Helping hands
Helping Hands, the welfare organization of the C.A.S School, comprising students ans teachers, has extended its financial reach this year and started a regular contribution to deserving causes. Besides the free van service which was facilitated last year for our cleaning staff, we have provided an ambulance to AMTI cancer hospice, courtesy the generosity of Mr Shan Ashary. the running and maintenance of the ambulance is our financial responsibility. in addition to making monthly contributions to the Garage School, Pakistan insaf Welfare Trust, S.I.U.T, and the Indus Hospital, we also make a monthly contribution from the Help Hands funds to AMIT.
All this was made possible by our Mufty Days, generous donations by individual downers, and regular donations by our student and faculty members. The junior section made a valuable contribution of over a lakh rupees to Helping Hands. money raised through a successful bake sale, enthusiastically and painstakingly planned by junior section teaches and volunteer mothers in the first term
In the month of August and September, 2010, our members held a flood relief drive to help generate funds for the victims in the flood-ridden areas of Northern Pakistan and Sindh. We collected a handsome sum of over seven lakh rupees, all of which was donated to the Rashid Memorial Welfare Organization which had set up two camps at Bhit Shah and Thatta, Sindh. Later in the year, three of our members visited the Northern Bypass Relief Camp to conduct a survey of teh essentials needed there and to write proposal for the German Consulate on how the funds Which they had donated could best be used. the same year, we also held a winter clothes drive for the residents of that camp.
We would like to thank all the people who have helped us bring about a difference in The welfare of our society. We look forward to a Year filled with even more ambitious and useful projects
